THE SHARK, USING ITS LENGTH AND GIRTH, WAS CALCULATED TO WEIGH 543 POUNDS. THE SHARK WAS BAITED WITH BARRACUDA HEAD, HOOKED AT 9:00 PM AND BROUGHT TO THE BEACH AT 12:20 AM. IT TOOK ABOUT A DOZEN FRIENDS AND FAMILY MEMBERS TO MOVE THE SHARK FROM THE BEACH TO THE PIER FOR THIS PHOTO.

MONTHS OF JANUARY - APRIL 2012

Hey,

Sorry the site has been down for awhile but that is about to change. The site is now owned by Ed Martin and Richard Thomas and I'm sure you will be thrilled to see the site in full motion again.

Jan. 19th, fishing has not been really good lately but there have been some nice catches in the late afternoon. Tuesday bull whiting, some black drum, sheepshead and blues were landed mostly after 2:30 in the afternoon. Today, leaving at 1:30 pm hardly anything except a few very small blues and small whiting were caught.

Jan. 26th, Please be patient trying to get the bugs out of the old site. Posted some of the fish caught in 2011 under of course 2011 fish. Water temp. is 66 degrees. Fishing remains slow with some whiting caught today and the ones caught were really nice size. Dwayne got a 7 plus pound black drum, Art landed a 16 inch flounder and some sheepshead were caught off the pilings. Other than that it was stingrays, skates and a few small blues. If you catch a fish and want it posted bring it to the end of the pier and if we are there we will take a pic. and post it.

On January 16th there was a really good day on the pier. Below are some pics a little fuzzy but will give an idea.

                                                                            February 2012

Feb.01, Water temp. today is still a beautiful 68 degrees, warmest it's been this time of year for awhile. The last 4 days the morning bite has been slow at best but in the afternoon about an hour after the tide starts in the bull whiting have turned on with many anglers getting coolers full. Today your host Rich and Abby each got a nice flounder and Dave (aka crazy dave) got a nice sheepshead. Also today fishing regulations have changed regarding Redfish. In Flagler County you can now keep 2 Reds in the same slot size (18 to 27inches) but be careful!!!!! Why!!! If you catch 2 reds in Flagler County and transport them to another county, and continue fishing you are breaking the law. If you are in a boat launched at High Bridge and come to Flagler you can't bring 2 reds back to High Bridge. For people like most of us on the pier the law means nothing since we can't even get one red. But we can hope!!!!! There have also been changes to the trout regs but check them out at www.myfwc.com .

Thanks

Ed Martin & Rich Thomas
